Inclusion Support Coordinator for Secondary Education, Nanaimo

Make a difference in education as the Inclusion Support Coordinator for NLPS. This role focuses on supporting inclusive practices and fostering a responsive learning environment for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

The Inclusion Support Coordinator will collaborate closely with school teams and district staff, providing essential leadership and guidance. With expertise in behavior intervention and individualized support plans, you'll strengthen inclusive learning environments. You must excel in problem-solving, possess strong interpersonal skills, and utilize data-informed decision-making for enhancing student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:• Assist teachers in differentiating instruction for diverse learners • Identify student strengths for Individual Education Plans • Provide mentorship in functional curriculum design and sensory strategies • Model inclusive practices and facilitate student transitions• Train staff in assistive technology usage

Requirements:• Master’s Degree in Special Education or equivalent • Professional Certification through BC Teacher Certification Branch • Classroom teaching experience in secondary settings preferred • Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices • Strong understanding of Indigenous perspectives in education
