Become a vital member of the AVI Nanaimo Community Health Centre team as a Registered Nurse. This position focuses on providing harm reduction and health care support to community clients in a trauma-informed setting. As a Registered Nurse working Tuesday through Thursday, you will engage with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care at AVI Nanaimo. You'll address the needs of clients dealing with HIV, HCV, and substance use, focusing on assessment, advocacy, and community outreach. Your commitment to harm reduction and trauma-informed practices will guide your interactions with diverse populations. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct intake and assessment for clients requiring multiple health services - Provide education and follow-up for substance use and harm reduction - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for client support - Navigate clients through housing and health system complexities - Administer medications under physician guidance Requirements: - Current RN registration in British Columbia - Minimum 3 years in substance use or primary care - Experience with marginalized communities - Transport dangerous goods certification required - CPR/BLS certification for Healthcare Providers Utilize your nursing expertise to empower and assist vulnerable community members in achieving their health goals.
