Job Overview The PT Prep / Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service in accordance with hotel standards, recipes, and food safety guidelines. This position supports all kitchen operations including prep work, service execution, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment to ensure an excellent guest experience. Responsibilities - Prepare and cook menu items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service - Set up and stock assigned stations with necessary supplies and ingredients - Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards - Assist with daily food preparation including chopping, portioning, marinating, and batching - Ensure timely and accurate ticket execution during service periods - Maintain proper food handling, labeling, rotation, and storage procedures (FIFO) - Monitor food quality, freshness, and temperature controls - Assist with banquet and catering food preparation as required - Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, work areas, and storage spaces - Follow all health, safety, and occupational standards - Support inventory control and minimize waste - Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house team members - Perform opening and closing duties as assigned Qualifications - Previous cooking or line experience preferred (hotel or restaurant experience an asset) - Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food safety practices - Ability to work all meal periods, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays - Strong time management and organizational skills - Ability to work in a quick-paced environment - Team-oriented with a positive attitude Physical Requirements - Ability to stand for extended periods - Ability to lift up to 40 lbs - Comfortable working in hot kitchen environments Benefits: - On-site gym - On-site parking Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2o45ea
