Application Developer (Nova Scotia)

Calgary Corporate Office, 1020 - 64 Avenue NE, Calgary, Alberta, Canada Job Description Role Overview As an Application Developer at Sobeys, you will design, build, and support business‑critical applications across our store technology ecosystem. You’ll work on a mix of new development, enhancements, and production support, contributing to solutions that directly impact store operations across Canada. This role can be based out of one of our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Calgary, AB. What You’ll Do Design and develop application features and integrations based on business and technical requirements Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code aligned with team standards Participate in and contribute to code and design reviews Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring timely and accurate fixes Collaborate with business partners, analysts, and other developers to deliver solutions Contribute to effort estimation and planning of development work Ensure documentation is accurate and maintained for implemented solutions Support deployment activities and post‑release validation Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability What You Bring Undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science or related field ~2–5 years of hands‑on application development experience Solid experience with .NET / C# (or comparable object‑oriented languages) Experience with SQL Server (or other relational database) Experience working across the full development lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment, support) Solid understanding of APIs, integrations, and database concepts Ability to independently deliver well‑defined features or enhancements Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, production support environment Nice to Have Experience with retail systems, POS, or high‑volume transactional environments Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred) Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices Experience with GitHub Co Pilot or other AI development tools Benefits We offer a Total Rewards package designed to support teammates at work and in life.
