Apprentice Electrician for Power Grid Expansion, Truro

Join Valard Construction as an Electrician Apprentice involved in enhancing substation infrastructure across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. This field-based position focuses on high and medium voltage electrical systems construction.

You will report to the Substation Construction Foreman, supporting the construction of essential electrical systems that promote reliability and renewable energy growth. The role includes physically demanding tasks outdoors while adhering to safety practices in a union environment.

Key Responsibilities:• Support the construction of high voltage electrical systems • Assist in substation steel erection and equipment installation • Help with cable installation for power distribution • Interpret and execute installation blueprints • Maintain daily safety records and ensure compliance

Requirements:• Must be a Registered Electrical Apprentice or eligible • Knowledge of safety regulations in construction • Ability to read and interpret blueprints • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history • Understanding of bonding and grounding principles
