We are seeking a dedicated Adult Education Instructor to join our team covering a maternity leave term. The instructor is responsible for the effective delivery of the CAEC preparation program and Nova Scotia Essential Skills Foundations (E3F) program covering basic to high school literacy and numeracy outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and math skills at a high school academic level, experience working with adult learners, and an understanding of the Canadian Adult Education Exam and preparation tools.Duties
Provide instruction at all literacy and numeracy levels from basic literacy and numeracy to high school academic levels as well as CAEC testing preparedness Establish individual learning plans that are ongoing and responsive to learner needs Work collaboratively with participants to meet learning goalsDeliver engaging instructional sessions both in-person and virtually Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and needs, including those with unidentified learning challenges and life barriersCollaborate with team members to create inclusive learning materials and resources Foster a positive, motivating workplace that encourages active participation and skill development Maintain a classroom culture that is adaptive to the needs of adult learners Qualifications
Bachelor of Education, or equivalent experience and training Experience with CAMERA assessment tool (Asset) Experience working with adults in an educational setting Experience with CAEC preparation materials and high school completion curriculum outcomes Excellent understanding of high school and CAEC level Math/ Science outcomesExcellent oral and written communication skills Understanding of how adult education principles are applied in a classroom setting Proven organizational skills Proven ability to manage a multi-level classroom and computer skills (asset) Pay
$26.93-$31.52 per hour Benefits
