Retail Manager (Centennial), Port Hawkesbury

Busy optical store in Oshawa, Ontario. Start date August 24/2026 Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate sales staff and cashiers Assign sales workers to duties and prepare work schedules Authorize payments and the return of merchandise Assist clients in selecting eyeglasses Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages Maintain specified inventory and order merchandisePrepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters Hire and train or arrange for the training of new sales staff and monitor and report on performance Ensure the visual standards and image of the store are maintained, such as store displays, signage and cleanliness May perform the same duties as workers supervisedOpening and closing the store, managing escalated complaints, developing and implementing marketing strategies, and signing for deliveries Skills

Strong retail sales experience Knowledge of store management principles and practices Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS) systems to process transactions Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships with customers Strong negotiation skills to close sales and upsell productsAbility to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced retail environment Attention to detail for accurate cash handling and inventory management Basic math skills for calculating discounts, totals, and change accurately This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys working in a retail setting.
