Operational Support– Building Services Assistant (FS9)
Location: Strait Area Campus, Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia Hourly Rate: $23.21 to $24.35 per hour. Responsibilities
Provide general building maintenance services and assist in custodial duties across campus. Answer routine inquiries and provide information following established NSCC standards and guidelines. Assist service contractors and tradespeople in completing assigned tasks. Conduct mechanical and operational inspections and provide routine scheduled maintenance to mechanical and life‑safety systems.Qualifications&Experience
High school diploma or recognized equivalent (GED). Candidates without diploma may also be considered. Minimum of two years (full‑time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in building maintenance or general building trades. Knowledge of mechanical aspects of public facility equipment (HVAC, sprinkler, air conditioning, boilers, swimming pools).Experience in commercial building maintenance or property management considered an asset. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and e‑mail; experience with Megamation, Adobe PDF, and Building Automation software considered an asset. Valid NS driver’s license considered an asset. Training in WHMIS, occupational health and safety, first aid and CPR considered an asset.Building Environment Systems Level1 considered an asset. Trade experience or assistance to trade (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, controls) is preferred. Skills&Knowledge
