Description
The Opportunity Our client is seeking a highly organized and analytical Production Scheduler to develop, manage, and optimize Master Production Schedules (MPS) and Work in Progress Schedules (WPS) within a manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in aligning production capacity, procurement, labour, and materials to meet customer demands while supporting operational efficiency and on‑time delivery goals. The successful candidate will work cross‑functionally with Production, Procurement, Quality, Customer Service, and Leadership teams to maintain schedule accuracy, support SAP process improvements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across production planning and control functions. What You'll Be Doing Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) in alignment with S&OP; forecasts, manufacturing capacity, and business objectives. Generate and manage detailed production schedules for in‑house manufacturing and procurement activities. Coordinate with Production Planners, Supervisors, Lead Hands, Procurement, and Quality teams to resolve schedule changes and production constraints. Monitor and adjust schedules based on changing customer demands, labour availability, material shortages, and production priorities. Align labour, machine capacity, and raw materials to meet production deadlines while minimizing bottlenecks. Monitor MRP data and respond to exception messages by adjusting planned and released production orders. Oversee production order releases and maintain accurate production dates within SAP. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Procurement to prevent stock shortages that may impact production. Lead weekly MPS and WPS meetings, communicating schedule risks, production changes, and impacts to On‑Time Delivery (OTD). Develop level‑loaded production schedules that provide both short‑ and long‑term visibility to internal stakeholders. Track and report KPI metrics including On‑Time Delivery (OTD), Schedule Accuracy, and Lead Times. Maintain SAP master data related to work centres, labour and machine capacity, lead times, and operational hours. Manage and update manufacturing routings to accurately reflect production processes and standard operation times. Analyze current SAP functionality and identify opportunities to improve production planning processes and system efficiencies. Support implementation of Make‑to‑Stock and repetitive manufacturing processes within SAP. Collaborate with leadership on continuous improvement initiatives, new technologies, and tools to strengthen Production Control operations. Provide reporting and visibility to Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams related to material status, work order tracking, costing, time booking, and KPI performance. What You'll Need To Be Successful University Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of experience in a Production Control, Production Planning, or Scheduling environment. Strong ERP experience, preferably within SAP (PP Module preferred). Experience working within an AS9100 quality environment is considered a robust asset. Strong understanding of MRP, Demand Management, Capacity Planning, and Forecasting principles. Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including SAP and Google Workspace. Understanding of SAP integration impacts across multiple modules. Project management experience considered an asset. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Exceptional time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapid‑paced environment. Self‑directed and accountable with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams. Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements. Strong business math and reporting capabilities. Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
