Volunteer Coordinator (Schomberg)

Job Summary This is a volunteer position with some honorariums and benefits in giving back to the community. We are seeking a dynamic and organized Volunteer Coordinator to lead and manage volunteer programs within our organization including workshops, summer camps, and conferences. The ideal candidate will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers to support various community initiatives and the farm. This role offers a 10-20 hour weekly opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing leadership and project management skills in a collaborative environment whilst learning about the agriculture industry. Duties - Recruit, interview, and onboard new volunteers through effective outreach and marketing strategies - Supervise and coordinate volunteer activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively - Develop and implement volunteer training programs to enhance engagement and performance - Organize volunteer schedules, assignments, and events to meet organizational needs - Collect and analyze data related to volunteer participation, retention, and program outcomes - Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, activities, and feedback using administrative tools - Promote volunteer opportunities through public speaking engagements and community outreach efforts - Collaborate with staff to align volunteer efforts with organizational goals and projects - Provide leadership and motivation to foster a positive volunteer experience Skills - Supervising experience with the ability to lead diverse teams of volunteers effectively - Strong public speaking skills for outreach, training sessions, and community engagement - Project management expertise to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously - Marketing skills to promote volunteer opportunities via various channels - Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire volunteers - Data collection proficiency for tracking program metrics and reporting outcomes - Administrative experience in managing records, schedules, and correspondence - Recruiting skills to attract a wide range of volunteers from different backgrounds - Teaching abilities to train volunteers on specific tasks or organizational procedures This position is an excellent volunteer opportunity for individuals passionate about community service, leadership development, and making a positive difference.
