Bakery Assistant - Sourdough Bread Production About Us Bou.le by L'Éclair Shoppe is a sourdough bakery rooted in quality, craftsmanship, and community. After five years of baking and growing our brand, we opened our first storefront in Schomberg in 2025. We are now looking for a Bakery Assistant with a focus on Sourdough Bread Production to work directly alongside our owner and lead baker in producing all of our bread products. This is a hands-on role for someone who is passionate about baking, eager to learn, and excited to be part of a growing artisan bakery. Position details Part time to start, with the opportunity to transition into full-time Early mornings, weekdays and weekends required What you’ll do Work closely with the owner/lead baker on daily sourdough production Mix, divide, shape, and score bread doughs Take part in early morning bakes, including loading ovens and baking breads Manage fermentation, proofing, and baking schedules Assist with maintaining and feeding sourdough starters Help with small-batch pastry and croissant production as needed Prepare inclusions, fillings, and toppings Maintain a clean, organized, and food-secure workspace Assist with packing, labeling, and preparing products for the shop What we’re looking for Experience with sourdough and bread production A genuine interest in fermentation and artisan baking Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced setting Strong attention to detail and consistency Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with early mornings Ability to lift and move trays, flour bags, and equipment Reliable transportation to and from the bakery Food Handler Certification is an asset Why work at Bou.le Learn directly from the owner and lead baker Be part of a small, passionate team focused on quality and craft Grow with a bakery that is expanding within the Schomberg community Gain hands-on experience in artisan sourdough Whether you’re a new baking or pastry school graduate or someone looking to deepen your craft, we value fresh perspectives, curiosity, and a strong desire to learn.
