We’re hiring a hands-on DZ Driver/Operator who enjoys being outside the truck, operating heavy equipment, and supporting landscape construction crews on active job sites. This role is ideal for someone who wants more than just driving. Please note that our shop is located in Schomberg (Highways 9 & 27) About the Role As a DZ Driver/Operator, you’ll support daily site operations by operating blower trucks, hydrovac trucks, and other specialized equipment on a variety of landscape construction projects including: - Subdivision landscape construction - Commercial landscape construction - Select residential landscape projects You’ll work closely with our site crews and project management team to complete material placement, assist with on-site tasks, and ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who enjoys being outdoors and working with equipment. Key Responsibilities - Assist and operate blower trucks, hydrovac trucks, and other specialized landscape construction equipment - Support daily site operations by assisting crews with material placement and on‑site tasks - Operate heavy landscape construction equipment as required - Perform secure and efficient loading, unloading, and equipment setup on active job sites - Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle/equipment logs - Follow site plans, directions, and safety procedures - Communicate effectively with site supervisors, project managers, crew members, and the public What We Offer - Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision) - Company social events - A positive, team-oriented work environment - Modern and well-maintained equipment - A team with 25+ years of industry experience - A safety‑first workplace built on ISO 45001 and COR standards - Ongoing training and professional development - Digital reporting through our easy-to-use company app What We’re Looking For (required) - Valid DZ driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract - 3 years of commercial driving experience (preferred) - Strong desire to work in a hands‑on, equipment‑focused role - Interest in learning to operate blower trucks, hydrovac trucks, and other equipment - Commitment to health and safety best practices - Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a crew - Enjoy working outdoors in a fast-paced environment - Reliable transportation to our shop in Schomberg (Hwy 9 & 27) Assets (not required) - Previous experience with blower trucks, hydrovac trucks, or similar equipment (not required as training is provided) - Experience in landscape construction, construction, or related trades - Safety training, first aid certification, or other construction-related certifications - Strong communication skills and ability to follow site directions - Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative on job sites - Mechanical aptitude or interest in equipment maintenance Schedule - Approximately 50-60 hours per week - Monday to Friday - Seasonal employment (April-December) Website: Instagram: @ghlcinc A vacancy exists for this position, and we are actively recruiting to fill it.
