Rate: - $19 - $25 at learning centre / virtual - $23 - $28 at-home sessions Our Values: - Integrity - Teamwork - Consistency & Perseverance - Communication - Empathy - Agility & Innovation Who you are: - Good listener - Have great written and verbal communication skills in English (or French if applicable) - Empathetic and enthusiastic towards students - Encourage and help students to be independent learners - Understanding of the struggles of students and being respectful of them as well What You’ll Do: - Assess student needs and creating engaging and productive sessions - Teach creatively to explain complex concepts (subject-matter expertise) - Build motivation and confidence in students by connecting with them on a personal level - Guide the student to build their own education tool kit and resources to become independent learners outside of sessions - Track and report on the student's progress on a regular basis What We’re Looking For: - Sound knowledge of the BC Curriculum - Post-secondary studies (or completed) in Science, Engineering, or English (BC) - Strong knowledge in Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and/or English (reading, writing, analysis) for secondary students - 3+ years of tutoring experience (formal/informal) - Great communication skills, empathy, and adaptability - Ability to travel for at-home sessions (Class 5 license an asset) - Willing to provide a Criminal Record Check - Legally eligible to work in Canada Perks: - Flexible hours (weekday afternoons/evenings & weekends) - On-site parking - Opportunity to shape young minds and grow as an educator - Collaborative tutoring approach so you are always supported by team of tutors - Tutoring resources and training to assist you with your lessons - Advanced tools & technology - Being a startup has many benefits including having your voice heard and making a difference in the way we support our students and local community Seems like the right fit and ready to apply?
