Regular / Term: Term Full Time (April 1, 2026 to April 1, 2027) Closing Date: Open until filled, with first a frist review of candidates on April 10, 2026 Position Summary The Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) is seeking a Program Manager, Recruit Training to support the delivery of its Police Academy programs. As a public post-secondary institution dedicated to advancing justice and public safety, JIBC plays a critical role in preparing professionals across law enforcement, emergency management, paramedicine, and related fields. This position contributes directly to that mission by ensuring recruit training programs are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with the high standards required in a public safety training environment. Reporting to the Program Director, Police Academy, the Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of a complex and fast-paced recruit training program. This includes leading program planning and implementation, coordinating course scheduling, and managing faculty resources to support consistent and high-quality program delivery. The role provides leadership to instructors and support staff, while also ensuring that systems, processes, and documentation are well maintained and continuously improved. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the position supports data integrity, operational efficiency, and the overall success of police recruits throughout their training experience. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience in program or operational management, preferably within a training or educational setting, alongside a background in police supervision or management. Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment. This role requires a high level of discretion and the ability to obtain security clearance due to access to confidential policing systems. Qualifications & Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an acceptable equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. - Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar management capacity, preferably within a training/education setting - Demonstrated ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships, work in a team environment, and build rapport and trust - Previous operational police supervision/management is required - Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities - Excellent analytical and problem solving skills - Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines - Strong collaborative leadership and conflict resolution skills - Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement and sensitivity working with complex issues - Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills - Proven ability to provide excellent customer service About JIBC Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) is a public, post-secondary institution that provides education and training to those who’ll be there to support British Columbians and others around the world, when a life is at stake or when health, safety or property is in jeopardy. What JIBC Offers We offer a total compensation package that includes a benefit plan, which includes Extended Health and Dental Benefits after three months, and enrollment in the College Pension Plan upon hire. In addition, we offer 20 vacation days and 10 Personal Days annually (pro-rated in first year), as well as generous other leave entitlements. Salary Range: $97,115.20 to $107,853.20 annually – Fair Comparison Faculty Equivalent Compensation Salary Grid L3 Position Type: Full-Time Term Position Number: 1000494 Employment Type: Full-Time Term Work Arrangements: This is a Term, full-time (35 hours per week) position. Must be within a commutable distance to the JIBC's Current Westminster Campus. This position may be eligible for hybrid work arrangements.
