Recycling Sorter (Surrey)

Job Summary White Rock Return-It Depot is currently seeking friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Sorters. We offer both full-time and part time positions at our location in a respectful and welcoming neighborhood. This is an in-person role that plays a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our bottle return process. We are looking for reliable workers interested in long-term employment. Please note: This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods and lifting 40 lbs or more. You will be handling used beverage containers, so the work can sometimes be messy or unpleasant. A strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail are essential for sorting and organizing containers quickly and accurately. Responsibilities - Provide friendly and respectful customer service - Accurately count, sort, and categorize returned containers - Lift and move bags, bins, and boxes of beverage containers - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the depot - Follow depot procedures and adhere to health & safety guidelines - Collaborate with team members to ensure an efficient workflow - Work weekday and/or weekend shifts, including on-call days as needed Requirements - Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods - Comfortable working in an environment that may be wet, sticky, or unpleasant due to returned containers - Strong attention to detail and cleanliness - A keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently - Positive attitude, reliability, and punctuality - Availability on weekends and flexibility with scheduling - No previous experience required – training will be provided - Experience with pallet jack operation is an asset Additional Details - Job Types: Full-time, Part-time - Schedule: 8-hour shifts, day shifts, weekends as needed - Location: On-site only (White Rock, BC) - Compensation: Base wage - Benefits: On-site parking Application Questions - When are you available to start? - Are you able to lift 40 lbs? - Are you available to work on weekends?
