As a Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-A, NYSE: BRK-B) company since 2001, MiTek has a record of continuous growth and innovation.Job Profile SummaryWe are seeking a passionate and hands-on dynamic leader to oversee our Surrey distribution location (18,000 sq. ft), leading a team of 3 staff members.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage all distribution center operations including shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory control; oversee facility maintenance, equipment readiness, and safety compliance; ensure accurate processing of customer orders and transfers; maintain inventory accuracy; and ensure a clean, organized, and efficient work environment across all warehouse functions.Job Responsibilities&RequirementsA Brief OverviewResponsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead the distribution center operations; oversee receiving, order fulfillment, and shipping activities; maintain accurate inventory and system transactions; ensure facility maintenance and equipment uptime; coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) transportation providers; and drive safety, service, and operational performance across the site.What You Will Do:ResponsibilitiesProvide overall leadership and accountability for distribution center performanceOversee daily operations including receiving, picking, packing, staging, and shippingEnsure accurate and timely processing of all customer orders and transfersMaintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and disciplined processesUtilize warehouse systems for inventory and transaction managementEnsure all inbound shipments are received, verified, and stored in designated locationsEnsure outbound shipments are accurately picked, packed, labeled, and shipped on timeCoordinate shipping schedules and priorities with 3PL transportation providersCommunicate shipment readiness, issues, and priorities to 3PL partnersMonitor service levels and resolve operational or delivery issues with 3PL providerOversee facility maintenance and ensure building cleanliness, organization, and readinessManage preventative maintenance (PM) programs for forklifts, dock equipment, and other material handling equipmentCoordinate repairs and vendors for building and equipment needsLead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable Canadian occupational health and safety regulationsConduct safety audits, training, and incident investigationsEnforce proper equipment use and safe work practicesLead, train, and develop distribution center associatesAssign daily work, manage staffing levels, and prioritize workloadsPromote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvementOversee packing, shrink wrapping, palletizing, and staging of productsEnsure accurate counts, labeling, and documentation for all shipmentsMaintain clean work areas, equipment, and warehouse spaceVerify order completeness and quality standards prior to shipmentAnalyze performance metrics (inventory accuracy, service levels, productivity)Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costsCollaborate with internal teams to support service and operational goalsQualifications5+ years of distribution center or warehouse leadership experience, including site-level responsibility requiredProven experience leading teams in a warehouse or distribution environment requiredStrong knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment processesExperience managing facility operations, maintenance, and equipment programsStrong communication skills (both verbal and written)High School Diploma or equivalent requiredExperience with SAP S/4HANA (inventory and warehouse management modules) preferredPrevious education in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field an assetExperience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers preferredContinuous improvement experience (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar) an assetMiTek PerksGenerous time off including Paid Time Off, annual holidaysMedical/Rx, Dental and Vision PlansPerformance/Incentive bonusesCareer advancement, training opportunities, Employee Resource Groups, and tuition reimbursementRetirement programs including RRSP and Profit SharingEmployer paid Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability and Life InsurancemyFlexPay partner– allows you to track, manage and access your pay anytimeMiTek is a platform innovator and enabler that exists to transform the building industry with better building solutions.
