About the Role We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Interior Designer / Interior Design Assistant to join our growing renovation and design team at Novawest Renovations Limited. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both creative design work and project coordination. You will work closely with clients and our internal team to help bring renovation projects to life through selections, drawings, sourcing, documentation, and communication support. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, design-focused, tech-savvy, and eager to grow within the residential renovation industry. Responsibilities Client Collaboration & Design Support - Participate in client meetings and help gather design direction and feedback - Assist clients with material and finish selections - Create mood boards and presentation materials - Help guide clients through design decisions and maintain organization throughout the selection process - Source materials, fixtures, finishes, furnishings, and products Technical & Documentation Work - Create specification and selection documents - Prepare basic drawings, floor plans, elevations, and layouts - Assist with kitchen cabinet layouts and bathroom design layouts - Support design revisions and updates throughout projects - Organize and maintain digital project files and documentation Project Coordination & Communication - Help maintain clear communication between clients, trades, suppliers, and the internal team - Assist with project tracking and follow-ups - Support procurement and sample organization - Update project information and selections within JobTread - Help streamline systems and workflows Qualifications - Education or experience in interior design, architectural technology, drafting, or a related field - Proficiency in: - AutoCAD - SketchUp - Google Workspace / Microsoft Office - Canva - JobTread experience is a strong asset - Strong organizational and communication skills - Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities - Detail-oriented with a strong design eye - Comfortable collaborating directly with clients - Ability to work independently while also being part of a team Ideal Candidate You are: - Creative but highly organized - Comfortable balancing design and administrative tasks - Proactive and willing to take initiative - Interested in residential renovations and construction - Eager to learn and grow within a quick-paced small business environment What We Offer - Flexible work setting - Opportunity for growth and mentorship - Exposure to all phases of residential renovation projects - Collaborative and supportive team culture - Ability to contribute creatively and meaningfully to projects from start to finish To apply, please send your resume and a short introduction explaining why you would be a good fit for the role.
