Description
Job Title: Graphic Designer Reports to: Communications and Marketing Specialist Application Deadline: Monday, May 11, 2026 (but will review early applications May 4th) Classification: Full-time, salary + benefits Compensation: $42,000-$52,000 yearly (dependent upon education and experience) with growth opportunity Location: Vancouver/Surrey Job Responsibilities - Produce creative designs mainly for print and web, but sometimes for other unique mediums like clothing and swag. - Design marketing assets including web campaigns, event marketing materials, landing pages, newsletters, annual reports, banners, display ads, signage, swag/branded clothing, vehicle wraps and ad hoc requests. - Prepare the final layout of print projects and liaise with printers and other vendors. - Manage and prioritize multiple design projects simultaneously. - Provide brand guidance and support to YU areas and programs. - Collaborate with the marketing and communications team and other staff to strategize and implement marketing plans and online initiatives. - Contribute to ongoing improvement of YU’s visual identity and design systems. - Assist with occasional events and team initiatives. - Support the creation of social media assets. - Management of GVYU's digital video and photo collection (photography/videography ability is an asset). Education - Degree or diploma in Graphic Design/Visual Communications, and/or possibly related experience. What You Bring - Alignment with Youth Unlimited’s values and ethos. - Proficient in Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), and Microsoft Office. - Experience with digital and print design with examples of both in your portfolio. - Some knowledge of CSS and HTML with the ability to work in various web builders (WordPress, Webflow, Wix). - Attention to detail and proven commitment to quality control. - Solid understanding of typography and page layout. - Self‑motivated individual with personal initiative, a versatile attitude, and the ability to prioritize a myriad of tasks and work within the context of shifting deadlines. - An ongoing desire to learn, think creatively and attempt to improve everything design‑related at GVYU. - Excellent communication and English language skills. - Ability to both work independently and with a team, and to at times, work under pressure. - A team‑first attitude and the willingness to work on all projects big or small. Not required but definite assets - Videography proficiency (filming and/or editing). - Photography proficiency (both capturing photos and in editing). - Experience in web design, web programming or digital marketing. - Understanding of interactive design. - Illustration skills. - Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, as well as the ability to communicate well.
