Position Overview As an HR professional, you will play a key role in supporting a wide range of human resources functions across the employee lifecycle in a dynamic energy company. This includes employee relations, HR systems, contracts, recruitment, onboarding, training and organizational development, benefits administration, LMIA processes—all handled with the highest level of confidentiality. The role requires strong judgment, emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate complex situations while supporting compliance with employment standards and evolving business needs.
You will work collaboratively across business and support teams, acting as a trusted resource and contributing to process improvements, supporting organizational initiatives and fostering a positive workplace culture. This role is ideal for an intermediate HR professional who is comfortable balancing hands‑on HR operations with advisory support in a fast‑paced, project‑driven EPCM environment across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries and employee relations matters, including performance concerns, workplace issues, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and sensitive employee situations.
Prepare, review and manage employment documentation, including contracts, offer letters, amendments and employee status changes, ensuring accuracy, compliance with employment standards and immigration requirements.
Manage full‑cycle recruitment for various roles, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination and employment offer preparation.
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes to deliver a smooth and consistent employee experience across locations.
Provide practical guidance for managers on performance management processes and documentation to drive employee performance improvement.
Coordinate administration and management of employee benefits programs, liaising with Accounting teams and external providers as needed.
Facilitate learning and development initiatives, including training coordination, tracking and employee development activities.
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of HR initiatives such as employee engagement activities, as well as HR processes, policies, templates, policies and systems that can scale with organizational growth.
Manage LMIA and immigration‑related processes, including applications, renewals, documentation and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain and update employee records within the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality and compliance.
Assist with HR reporting, audits, compliance activities and workforce planning to support business growth and operational readiness.
Take on additional operational and administrative responsibilities as needed to support organizational changes.
Qualifications
4–7 years of HR experience in a generalist or advisory role, ideally in energy, engineering or other project‑based industries.
Demonstrated skills or experience across multiple HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, training coordination and HRIS administration.
Solid understanding of Canadian employment legislation, compliance requirements and HR best practices; familiarity with multi‑jurisdictional employment considerations is an asset.
Ability to work with flexibility while maintaining accuracy, discretion and sound judgment in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels.
Experience supporting technical, project‑based or geographically dispersed workforces is a strong asset.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with ADP, SharePoint, or other HRIS platforms is an asset.
Self‑driven, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement and professional growth.
CPHR designation or actively working toward CPHR is considered a strong asset.
