Mechanical Draftsperson (Surrey)

GK Engineering & Design Ltd. is looking for an experienced Mechanical Draftsperson to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have 1–2+ years of drafting experience in mechanical building services and be confident working on residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. Key Responsibilities - Prepare mechanical drawings for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, sprinkler, and related building systems. - Work with engineers, designers, architects, and project teams to prepare permit and construction drawings. - Review architectural and structural drawings for coordination. - Prepare and revise drawings based on engineer comments, client feedback, and authority requirements. - Maintain proper drawing standards, layers, schedules, notes, and project documentation. - Assist with coordination between mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building envelope disciplines. Requirements: - 1–2+ years of mechanical drafting experience. - Solid knowledge of AutoCAD; Revit MEP experience is an asset. - Experience with HVAC, plumbing, drainage, sprinkler, and mechanical room layouts. - Ability to read architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. - Understanding of BC Building Code, plumbing code, and local permit submission requirements is an asset. - Strong attention to detail, time management, and coordination skills. - Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
