Role Description The Line Cook is a full-time, on-site role based at our Chop Steakhouse & Bar location in Surrey, BC. In this role, you will prepare and cook menu items according to Chop recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines, while maintaining speed and consistency during busy service periods. You will set up and stock your station, rotate inventory, and ensure all ingredients and tools are ready for service. The Line Cook will follow food safety and sanitation procedures, keep work areas clean and organized, and assist with dish-up and plating for large orders. You will collaborate closely with the kitchen team and leadership, communicate effectively during service, and support prep work, closing duties, and other tasks as needed. Qualifications - Qualified cooking skills, including grilling, sautéing, and broiling, with strong attention to detail and plate presentation. - Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices in a high-volume kitchen environment. - Ability to follow recipes, portion controls, and kitchen procedures while maintaining consistency and quality under pressure. - Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively on a busy line and support colleagues as needed. - Solid time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain a clean, efficient station. - Previous line cook or back-of-house experience in a restaurant, hotel, or similar environment is an asset. - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on restaurant operating needs. - Food Safe or equivalent food-handling certification, or willingness to obtain it within a set timeframe. - Commitment to a respectful, inclusive, and safety-focused workplace that supports team members of all backgrounds.
