Purpose of the Position IEM is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer for our Surrey, B.C. location. The role reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager and supports lean initiatives, standard work documentation, and data-driven process improvement in a hands‑on capacity. This is an ideal position for candidates passionate about lean manufacturing who want to grow in a structured CI environment. This role requires 100% in‑office presence in the Surrey office and does not offer remote work. Key Responsibilities Support cross‑functional kaizen events focused on lean fundamentals, standard work, visual management, flow, problem solving and strategic growth/capacity initiatives. Assist in the implementation of tools and processes across operations, supply chain, engineering, and commercial functions. Develop internal capability by supporting the training and coaching of team members/leaders in lean thinking, daily management and continuous improvement practices. Create improvement roadmaps based on assessments of the business system maturity. Enable teams to embrace standardization, accountability, and data‑driven decision making. Identify and document internal best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field; MBA or Master's preferred. 3–5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing, operations, or continuous improvement environment, preferably in a multi‑site or matrixed industrial setting. Deep understanding of Lean Principles (e.g., 5S, value stream mapping, standard work, visual management, PDCA, SMED, A3 problem solving). Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional kaizen events and system‑wide CI initiatives. Understanding of basic ops finance, including P&L;, impact, cost drivers, and fixed vs. variable costs. Robust facilitation, project management and communication skills. Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with potential to assume broader leadership roles in a fast‑paced, high‑growth organization.
