Construction Superintendent (Newmarket)

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing institutional and industrial renovation projects within the ICI sector. Responsibilities - Ensure all site health and safety requirements, policies, and procedures are implemented and consistently maintained - Supervise and coordinate all on‑site construction activities and subtrades - Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards - Coordinate subtrades and suppliers to ensure work complies with contract documents, specifications, and project schedules - Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings - Arrange and coordinate independent testing and inspection services as required - Coordinate inspections with building departments and regulatory authorities - Manage renovation work within occupied facilities while minimizing disruption to client operations - Ensure the site is properly secured, organized, and maintained daily - Implement and coordinate approved change orders on site - Assist with quantity take‑offs and project planning as required - Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants, trades, and internal project teams - Monitor project progress and proactively address scheduling or site‑related issues Qualifications & Skills - Minimum 5+ years of experience in the ICI construction industry - Experience managing institutional and industrial renovation projects valued between $1M–$10M - Previous hands‑on construction experience is considered a robust asset - Robust knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems - Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications - Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills - Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines - Strong understanding of Ontario health and safety regulations and site practices - Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word Job Types Full‑time, Permanent Pay $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year Benefits - Competitive compensation - Casual dress - Company events - Dental care - Extended health care - Life insurance - On‑site parking - Paid time off - Profit sharing - RRSP match - Vision care Experience - Superintendent: 10 years (required) Language English (required) Licence/Certification Class G Licence (required) Work Location In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pcg43
