About the Job Are you someone who takes pride in fixing problems, keeping properties running smoothly, and working with your hands? We’re looking for a dependable and motivated Property Maintenance Worker to join our team. Reporting directly to the Property Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll support the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of office buildings, rental units, and grounds primarily throughout the Niagara Region, with occasional travel to other areas within Ontario. This is a dynamic role ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their workday and is comfortable handling everything from preventative maintenance to emergency repairs. 32-40 hours weekly. Hourly rate: $25 - $28 an hour based on skills and qualifications What You’ll Be Doing - Update the Property Maintenance Supervisor on completion of tasks or receipt of goods or services so Purchase orders and/or Work orders are up to date. - Conduct grounds and facility walkthroughs daily, equipment and system monitoring and other inspections. - Perform general housekeeping duties, repair and maintenance of Niagara Head Office campus office buildings. - Provides input and performs corrective actions for safety concerns arising from JHSC meetings. - Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and systems at Niagara Campus offices. - Maintains Walker electric, security and maintenance vehicles and trailers. - Assists with file sorting, storage solutions and facilitates office moves as necessary. - Perform seasonal landscaping duties at Niagara Head Office campus - Assists with supervision of contractor’s work for landscaping, snow removal, tree removal and general upkeep of leased and vacant owned properties. - Assists with oversight of demolitions and large repairs or construction projects - Supports annual rental unit inspections, documents deficiencies and updates the Property Maintenance Supervisor General maintenance and repairs of all Niagara based rental units Here’s What You Need - High school diploma or equivalent - Valid Ontario G Driver’s Licence in valuable standing - Minimum 1 year of experience in facility or property maintenance is considered an asset, but not required - Proven experience identifying issues and performing minor repairs involving: - Electrical systems - Plumbing - HVAC systems - Security systems - Water pumps - Septic and cistern systems - Fire suppression systems - Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated repair and maintenance skills - Experience using power tools safely and effectively - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records - First Aid, WHMIS, and Working at Heights certifications are considered assets What’s in it for you - You become part of a team you can count on - A comprehensive total rewards package and advantages to support your wellbeing - Leaders who support your growth and success - A workplace that provides the best health & safety practices in industry - Give back to your community with two paid volunteer days annually and opportunities to become involved in events Working at Walker At Walker, your contribution matters.
