About the University The University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF) is a digitally oriented institution located in historic downtown Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Position Title:
Assistant Professor– Finance HBBA
Location:
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada (Onsite)
Work Arrangement:
Onsite hybrid, minimum 3 days per week
Reports To:
Associate Dean– HBBA
Minimum Hiring Salary:
$93,000 per year
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Finance, Financial Economics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
A Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related discipline from accredited institutions.
At least five (5) years of professional experience in the financial industry.
At least five (5) years of experience teaching Finance or Financial Management courses in a post‑secondary environment, preferably at graduate level.
Subject matter expertise in corporate finance, financial modeling, investment analysis, and risk management.
Preferred: CFA, CPA, or another recognized professional finance designation.
Industry experience in banking, investment, FinTech, financial analytics, algorithmic trading, or AI in finance is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to integrate practical applications and case‑based learning into teaching.
Prior graduate‑level teaching experience in MBA or Master of Finance programs is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Teach graduate‑level Finance courses in both online and in‑person dual modalities, delivering flipped, traditional, and applied learning activities aligned with graduate expectations.
Contribute to course development and continuous program improvement, refining content, learning outcomes, assessments, and resources.
Supervise applied projects, capstone experiences, and experiential learning opportunities, providing guidance and evaluation.
Mentor graduate students from diverse backgrounds, supporting academic growth and inclusive learning environments.
Participate in program and institutional service through meetings, committees, and initiatives.
Engage with industry, community, and professional stakeholders to develop collaborations and partnerships that enhance applied learning opportunities.
Maintain an active scholarly and professional profile relevant to finance, integrating recent insights into teaching and supervision.
