Description
Position: Retail Sales Associate Reports to: Store Management / Supervisor Job Description Maple Leaf Place, a 20,000 square foot one-stop-shop souvenir store, and attraction. We are excited about current expansions, additions and renovations being completed to the store this year, including the newest experience attraction in Niagara Falls. The Sales associate is responsible for ensuring a positive and memorable shopping experience for our Maple Leaf Place customer, through friendly and knowledgeable service, with the ability to effectively communicate product knowledge, “add-ons”, features and benefits, thereby assisting in meeting store sales goals and objectives. At this time we have full time/part time/seasonal positions available for Retail Sales Associates for our Maple Syrup Experience. We are looking for people who are reliable, mature, energetic, and positive. They must be available with flexible schedules during the tourist season (Spring through to Fall). During peak season we are open from 9:00AM – 8:00PM. Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Training, Coaching and Development: · Successfully complete all training programs, and identify any additional training that may be required. · Actively participate in his/her own training by putting into practice what has been learned. · Follow the training directions as assigned by Management / Supervisor. · Complete necessary Health & Safety training, and adhere to Health and Safety policy requirements that contribute to a safe work place. Customer Service Excellence: · Ensure customers have a memorable and enjoyable shopping experience by providing friendly and knowledgeable service including product knowledge. (eg. Product knowledge, benefits and features). · Encourage additional sales by offering 'add-ons' to each customer's purchase. · Respond positively to customer inquiries and concerns. Know when to escalate the concern to Management. · Maintain customer service standards (as per performance indicators/management). · Ensure the store is tidy, clean and organized at all times. (Including the stockroom and staff room) · Is a team player who displays excellent interpersonal and communication skills. · Project professionalism and company image in both attitude, and attire by adhering to dress code practices. Time Management: · Effectively utilize time management skills, to get the job done promptly and efficiently while meeting company objectives, within a set timeline (eg. Maintenance and cleanliness of store, visual merchandising etc.) Sales and Wage Cost: · Assist in ensuring store meets sales plans and projections. Visual Merchandising: · Ensure visual merchandising strategies are implemented as per Management direction within the required time frame. · Effective participation and execution of visual changes. · Support pricing strategies and markdowns. · Support ongoing maintenance of visual merchandising standards. Loss Prevention: · Adhere to loss prevention policies and practices in order to reduce internal and external losses. Working Conditions: · Store level. · Physically demanding work in the store environment. · Standing on your feet for an extended period of time. · Lifting and ladder climbing required. Qualifications: · Previous retail experience an asset Related Work Skills: · People person, with a strong ability to communicate with customers and fellow employees. · Effective time management and organizational skills. · Able to work independently. · Must work well in a team-oriented environment.
