Indigenous Student Advocate - West Region, North Bay

Join as an Indigenous Student Advocate in the West Region, dedicated to fostering successful educational experiences for First Nation, Metis, and Inuit students. Implement key programs that support their unique learning needs.

This permanent role entails working directly with school teams and the Principal of Student Achievement to build and maintain strong relationships with students and their families. Your role will focus on breaking down barriers to learning, providing career pathways, and ensuring cultural inclusivity in education. Open communication with families and communities will be fundamental to your success.

Key Responsibilities:• Facilitate strong communication between schools and families • Support students in identifying academic pathways • Enhance cultural activities within the school environment • Build supportive relationships with local communities • Act as an advocate for Indigenous students

Requirements:• At least 2-year diploma or degree in a relevant field • Experience with cultural teachings required • Ojibwe language knowledge preferred • Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle • Eligible to work in Canada
