Skilled Line Cook Wanted (Salt Spring Island)

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to relocate to beautiful Salt Spring Island. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment on our 5 acre farm that sits in a sunny valley. This role requires a passion for food, excellent food handling practices, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Line Cook will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests by ensuring timely and consistent meal preparation. Responsibilities - Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation standards - Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients - Cook dishes with precision, ensuring proper temperature, texture, and presentation - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen station throughout the shift - Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment - Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours - Restock supplies and assist with inventory management as needed - Serve food promptly to ensure timely delivery to guests Qualifications - Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environment preferred - Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and meal assembly - Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling procedures - Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality - Excellent teamwork and communication skills - Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and evenings as needed Simple, low-cost housing will be avaiable for your relocation and rent is not included in pay. Tips are also a valuable part of this job; 3 to 4$/hr in low season and 5-7hr/ in high season.
