Job Description Join our Spa Team as an Assistant Spa Manager at the Ancient Cedars Spa, part of the Wickaninnish Inn, a Relais & Châteaux property recognized by Forbes, Michelin Star, AAA Four Diamond, and Travel & Leisure’s World’s Best Hotels. Ensure efficient and personalized guest service meeting and exceeding Relais & Chateaux, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond and Forbes Standards. Adhere to the Inn’s mission statements and maintain the service philosophy. Lead by example as a proactive member of the Ancient Cedars Spa Leadership Team. Act as the Spa Manager in their absence, handling day‑to‑day operations and assist the team to meet guest expectations. Create a positive learning environment for the spa team. Maintain overall cleanliness and physical condition of the spa, including workspace, storage, and equipment. Serve as the contact person for immediate guest assistance and follow up on concerns. Administer Human Resources tasks within the department: scheduling, training, payroll entry, performance reviews, and reviews for team members. Support budgeting efforts and strategy implementation to meet monthly targets. Assist transition to new spa software, including creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor retail program, provide training and feedback to practitioners, and conduct performance discussions regarding retail sales. Work at the reception desk and cover treatments as needed. Assume Manager responsibilities during absences and complete all administrative duties required for smooth operation. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, multitasking ability, and creative problem‑solving. Desire to lead a world‑class spa team. Knowledge of standard operating financial statements, budgeting, and cost management. Working knowledge of spa and property management systems (Spa Soft, Maestro), Microsoft Word, Excel, and FileMaker Pro is an asset. Responsibility to plan, control the budget, and manage inventory. Responsibility to respond to inquiries or complaints and resolve problems. Flexibility for shift work, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Previous experience as a Massage Practitioner, minimum 1000 hours in massage education. Minimum two years’ management experience in a high‑end, full‑service luxury facility. Commitment of two years to the position. Salary/Wage $58,000 per year.
