Store Manager (Salt Spring Island)

OVERVIEW We operate bright, clean, and well-organized recycling centres across Vancouver Island and Salt Spring Island. Our goal is simple: make recycling a genuinely positive experience so more people choose to do it. As Manager, you'll lead day-to-day operations, maintain a safe and welcoming environment, and be the driving force behind a team of 2–5 staff members. What you'll do - Plan, organize, and oversee all daily operations including opening and closing procedures - Manage and motivate a small team — recruiting, training, and creating a positive work environment - Handle cash and bank orders accurately; complete daily reports and administrative paperwork - Implement company policies and respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and issues - Conduct weekly pick-ups using a work truck - Maintain clear communication with owners What you bring: - Strong leadership and team-building instincts - Solid decision-making and problem-solving ability - Excellent communication skills — written and verbal - Planning, organizational, and business acumen - Comfort handling cash responsibly - Basic computer proficiency - Resourcefulness, resilience, and a strong work ethic Requirements - Valid BC driver's licence in good standing - Forklift operator certification (training provided) - Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs - Able to walk and stand for an 8-hour shift - Comfortable working in a fast-paced workplace - Honesty and integrity — non-negotiable All final candidates will be required to provide a BC Driver's Abstract, and professional references.
