Experienced painters wanted (Salt Spring Island)

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team on beautiful Salt Spring Island B.C. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various surfaces in residential and commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of new construction painting, restoration, fine finishing, cabinet repainting, interior and exterior preperation and high end spray finishing. The Painter will work closely with project managers, carpenters, and other trades to ensure high-quality results that meet client specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities - Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure proper adhesion of paint or coatings - Apply paint, stains, varnishes, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment - Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project scope and specifications - Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for surface preparation and finishing tasks - Perform restoration work on damaged surfaces or structures to restore them to their original condition - Operate rigging equipment as needed for high or hard-to-reach areas - Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment throughout the project lifecycle - Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure project requirements are understood and met Skills - Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting and fine finishing. - Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately - Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in painting and carpentry - Knowledge of caulking techniques for sealing gaps and joints - Strong understanding of restoration processes and construction methods - Excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines efficiently - Customer service skills to address client inquiries professionally - Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients - Experience with rigging and working at heights is a plus - Familiarity with schematics related to industrial systems is advantageous Join our team as a Painter if you are committed to delivering quality craftsmanship in a safe working environment.
