Concrete Pump Operator (Salt Spring Island)

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Concrete Pump Operator to join our team at Gulf Coast Materials. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating concrete pumping equipment to efficiently and safely deliver concrete to various construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, construction processes, and safety protocols to ensure high-quality work and project success. Duties - Operate concrete pump trucks and related heavy machinery with precision and safety. - Set up and inspect equipment prior to operation, ensuring all safety standards are met. - Coordinate with construction crews to position the pump correctly for various pouring tasks. - Monitor the flow of concrete, adjusting as necessary to maintain consistent delivery. - Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly. - Assist with other construction activities such as paving, concrete forming, loader operation, or excavator work as needed. - Follow all safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe work environment at all times. Requirements - Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with concrete pumps. - Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery and troubleshooting. - Background in construction, paving, concrete forming, or related fields is preferred. - Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is highly desirable. - Ability to operate additional equipment such as loaders, excavators, or finishing tools is a plus. - Strong understanding of safety protocols and ability to adhere strictly to safety guidelines. - Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. - Physical stamina and dexterity required for operating heavy machinery and performing manual tasks in various weather conditions.
