Barista/All Rounder (Chemainus)

Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. Your ability to connect with customers and provide exceptional service will be key to enhancing their experience at our establishment. Duties - Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, ensuring consistency and quality. - Engage with customers to take orders, provide recommendations, and answer any questions about the menu. - Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and dining spaces. - Assist in food preparation, including pastries and light snacks, adhering to food safety standards. - Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies; communicate needs to management. - Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. - Uphold company policies regarding food handling and safety practices. Skills - Solid customer service skills with the ability to create a friendly atmosphere for patrons. - Experience in cash handling and familiarity with POS systems for efficient transaction processing. - Background in the food industry or food service is preferred but not required. - Knowledge of food handling practices to ensure safety and quality in food preparation. - Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours. - Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and order processing. - Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
