Recreation Programmer I 26022R Regular Full-Time The North Vancouver Recreation & Culture Commission is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. NVRC offers a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic leader to join our team as a Recreation Programmer 1. WHY WORK FOR US? GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE You will assist with the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a variety of community-based recreation, social and cultural programs. You may also have responsibility for the planning and implementation of smaller programs with guidance from your supervisor. You will participate in recruiting, training and evaluating instructors; promote interest and participation in programs and provide customer service to patrons and the public. ABOUT YOU You have sound knowledge of community recreation principles, practices, interests and resources; working knowledge of indoor/outdoor sports, fitness, health & wellness, social activities, crafts, arts and other pursuits related to our programs; the ability to plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and recommend changes to programs; the ability to recruit, train and evaluate instructors; and the ability to prepare and maintain reports and records. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by post-secondary courses on track to obtaining a Recreation Management certificate, diploma or degree, plus related experience. A valid Class 5 BC drivers license and access to a vehicle for NVRC business. The comprehensive benefit package includes enrolment into group life insurance, extended health, dental benefits, the Municipal Pension Plan upon eligibility, and the option of participating in the Earned Days Off program. All employees will be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position prior to any appointment. The pay for this unionized regular full-time position starts at step 1, $31.97 and ranges up to $37.58 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefit package. This is a regular full-time position for 35 hours per week including weekends, days and/or evenings based on operational needs.
