Mt Seymour is Vancouver’s family owned and operated ski area delivering a relaxed West Coast feel only 30 minutes' drive from downtown Vancouver. We are currently hiring for a Red Seal Industrial Electrician to join our Mt Seymour family.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES As an industrial electrician, you are responsible for maintaining all Mt Seymour’s current electrical systems including ski lifts, and installation of new systems when required. This is a varied position and requires outdoor work during the winter months. This position also requires that you are available weekends and evenings during the winter operational months.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify and prioritize all electrical maintenance requirements

Carry out electrical maintenance and repairs on all Mt Seymour electrical systems including ski lifts

Ensure that all manufacturer’s guidelines and government regulations regarding electrical maintenance and repair are followed

Shipping and receiving of materials as required

Maintain records regarding maintenance work performed, materials used, quality, and cost control

Ensure a high standard in all finished work while remaining cost-effective

Be responsible for thorough record keeping and the reporting of equipment status including but not limited to work performed

QUALIFICATIONS&EXPERIENCE

A Class B FSR certificate - not required but an asset

Minimum of 3 years previous experience as a ticketed electrician with working knowledge of other related trades

Comfortable with working at high altitudes– 50-foot towers

Must be available to work weekends and evenings as needed

Experience working with passenger ropeways is an asset

Knowledge and diagnostic skills on motor controls, PLCS, and AC/DC drives

Knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Electric Code

Knowledge of high-voltage circuitry and protection devices

Valid WHMIS certificate

Valid Confined Space Entry Certificate - an asset but not required

Strong organizational and time management skills to provide timely and high-quality service to maximize guest and employee experiences

Willing and able to work in all weather conditions while performing labor-intensive duties

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Full-time temporary position

Hourly wage $40-$45/hour

Complimentary season pass and shuttle bus pass
