We are seeking a dedicated and student-centred educator to join our multi-grade Grades 2–4 classroom. This is a unique opportunity to work within a small, close-knit learning environment of ten students, where deep relationships and personalized instruction are at the forefront of everything we do.Our school is deeply immersed in Tsleil-Waututh culture and traditions. As a teacher here, you are not just an instructor but a lead learner who works alongside a robust support team—including a dedicated Community Support Staff member in your classroom, a Resource Teacher, a PHE Specialist, and a hands-on Administrative team.Key Responsibilities
Experiential Learning:
Design and implement hands-on, land-based, and inquiry-driven lessons that move beyond the traditional classroom setting. Cultural Integration:
Collaboratively weave Tsleil-Waututh perspectives and practices into the BC Curriculum. Inclusive Instruction:
Adapt and modify lessons to meet the diverse needs of a multi-grade cohort, supported by your classroom team. Relational Teaching:
Foster a classroom climate rooted in kindness, patience, and mutual respect. What You Bring
Cultural Safety:
A deep commitment to practicing cultural humility and creating a safe, affirming space for Indigenous learners. Trauma-Informed Practice:
Ideally, you have experience or training in trauma-informed pedagogy, understanding how to support students' social-emotional well-being. Patience&Care:
A genuine love for working with primary-aged children and the ability to remain calm and supportive through various learning challenges. Collaborative Spirit:
