Woodfibre LNG

Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Position The

Document Controller

is an integral part of

Woodfibre LNG's

dynamic team. Reporting to the Head of Engineering Support, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering the company’s controlled document management processes and systems to support the transition from project into operations. The Document Controller will play a key role in establishing scalable and efficient document management practices that support operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and long-termfacility operations. This position requires close collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, HSSE, Regulatory, and Project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and continuously improve controlled document management processes, workflows, standards, and governance practices.

Administer and maintain the company’s controlled document management environment, including SharePoint-based document libraries and workflows.

Coordinate the review, approval, revision, publishing, retention, and archival of controlled company documents.

Trigger and coordinate periodic review cycles for controlled company documentation to ensure documents remain current and compliant.

Be the key Operations focal person for the receipt of project documentation handover from construction and project teams into operations.

Develop and maintain document registers, metadata structures, tracking logs, and reporting dashboards.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, governance, and usability of document management processes and systems.

Support workflow automation initiatives using Microsoft Power Automate and related Microsoft 365 tools.

Provide document management training and support to users across the organization.

Support audits, regulatory requests, and management reporting activities related to controlled documentation and records management.

Provide clear and proactive communication regarding document status, outstanding actions, risks, and handover progress.

Contribute to broader information management, operational readiness, and management system initiatives.

Requirements Required Experience

7+ years of document control experience within LNG, oil&gas, mining, energy, infrastructure, or other major industrial environments.

Experience supporting project documentation handover and transition into operations on the owner/operator side of a major capital project.

Strong experience with SharePoint Online administration and document management systems.

Demonstrated experience developing and improving document management processes, workflows, and governance structures.

Strong understanding of controlled document lifecycle management, including revision control, metadata management, approvals, retention, and auditability.

Experience working within regulated or highly governed operational environment.

Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of technical and operational documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Process-driven mindset with continuous improvement focus.

Demonstrated ability to work proactively, independently, and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate) and generative AI tools (especially Copilot) is considered an asset.

Familiarity with data analytics, reporting, and Power BI is considered an asset.

Additional Requirements

Diploma or degree in Information Management, Business Administration, Engineering Technology, Library Sciences, or related discipline preferred.

Skill with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 applications.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

The position is based in Squamish, BC (Project Site), with an initial period at the Vancouver Office.
