Salary Range: $66,689.00 To $93,364.00 Annually Be Part of Something Meaningful Are you a collaborative, detail‑oriented, and culturally grounded professional with a passion for education and Indigenous language revitalization? Squamish Nation is seeking a Curriculum Developer–Writer to join the Ta na wa Ns7éyx̱nitm ta Snew̓íyelh (Language and Cultural Affairs) team. This role plays a vital part in preserving, strengthening, and advancing Sḵwx̱wú7mesh language and culture through the development of high-quality curriculum and learning resources. More than curriculum design, this position contributes directly to cultural continuity, community identity, and intergenerational knowledge sharing. What You’ll Do Develop, write, and adapt Squamish language and cultural curriculum for both immersion and non-immersion programs. Conduct research and collaborate with Knowledge Keepers, Elders, educators, and subject matter experts to inform curriculum development. Identify curriculum needs, assess gaps, and recommend improvements aligned with educational and cultural priorities. Support the creation of engaging learning materials, activities, and resources for a variety of audiences (including K–12 learners). Present curriculum projects and contribute to strategic planning within the Language and Cultural Affairs team. Collaborate across departments and with external partners to support program delivery and curriculum initiatives. Assist with policy, process, and program development related to curriculum and language programming. Support program delivery, including occasional teaching, lesson preparation, and student evaluation as required. Contribute to department goals and participate in key projects that support language revitalization efforts. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. 5–6 years of experience in curriculum development, writing, and/or teaching. Strong knowledge of curriculum design, instructional methods, and program delivery. Experience working with Indigenous communities; knowledge of Squamish culture and language is a strong asset. Ability to build strong relationships with community members, educators, and stakeholders. Excellent research, writing, and communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. High level of emotional intelligence, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity. Squamish Language and Culture Certificate or Immersion Diploma. Provincial Instructor Diploma or teaching credentials. Demonstrated proficiency in the Squamish language.
