Responsibilities
Lead the
mechanical engineering discipline
on major nuclear projects from concept through execution
Act as the
primary mechanical interface
with OPG and key project stakeholders
Oversee and review engineering deliverables, including
P&IDs, equipment specifications, BOMs, piping layouts, stress analyses, and HVAC designs
Ensure full compliance with
Canadian nuclear codes and CNSC regulatory requirements
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers and designers
Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated project delivery
Review and approve vendor documentation and technical submittals
Drive
fit‑for‑purpose, compliant, and cost‑effective engineering solutions
Support proposals, project planning, risk management, and client presentations
Identify and manage scope changes, risks, and technical opportunities
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in
Mechanical Engineering
(Master’s preferred)
15+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including 5+ years in
nuclear projects
Direct OPG experience
(employee, contractor, or consultant)– mandatory
Active OPG security clearance
Strong working knowledge of
OPG systems and processes
(ECC, Asset Suite 9, EBOM)
Deep understanding of
CSA nuclear standards
(N285, N286, N299) and CNSC requirements
Familiarity with Bruce Power processes is an asset
Experience with tools such as
ANSYS, Caesar II, AutoPIPE
Proven ability to lead teams, manage complexity, and interface with senior stakeholders
Strong communication skills and a client‑focused mindset
