Acclaim Health announces the availability of Casual Shift RPN (Registered Practical Nurse) positions to work shifts ranging from 3 to12 hour in duration in Mississauga and Halton. These positions require the individuals to work a minimum of two shifts a week, as well as 1:4 weekends in addition to a statutory holiday rotation. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: - Provide shift nursing care to individuals in a community setting. - Meets the health needs of the patient/family through the provision of nursing care. - Develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies the plan of care outlining the strategies, orders and actions to achieve expected/desired outcomes. - Assesses the health status of the client using a holistic care approach - Provides palliative care through end of life - Provides nursing interventions to the full scope of practice - Administers IV therapy including central line and peripheral line maintenance. - Administers medications topically through natural body orifices, through tubes and by injections. - Provides wound care, acute and chronic, for certain types and stages of wounds. - Attends team meetings as required. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: - Current registration with the CNO - Palliative Care education including Fundamentals of Palliative Care, Pain and Symptom Management and CAPCE is an asset - 1 – 2 years of experience in providing palliative care - Experience with CADD PCA pumps - Pain & symptom management experience - Tracheotomy and ventilation experience an asset - Current CPR certificate - Excellent interpersonal, communication and teaching skills - Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle Acclaim Health is an equal opportunity employer and is actively working towards a more inclusive, diverse and equitable world.
