High School Math Teacher / Tutor Wanted Oxford Learning Oakville North is growing, and we’re looking for enthusiastic
High School Math Teacher‑Tutors
to join our award‑winning team. This role is perfect for someone who lights up when talking about math, enjoys working with students, and finds satisfaction in helping them build confidence and master challenging concepts. It is a fantastic opportunity for future educators, math enthusiasts, university students, or anyone considering a career in teaching to gain meaningful experience working directly with students.
At Oxford Learning, you won’t just be tutoring. You’ll be mentoring students, inspiring confidence, and helping them discover that math can actually make sense (and even be fun!). The best part? No lesson planning required. All lessons are fully prepared through our proprietary methodology, so you can focus on what matters most: teaching, connecting with students, and making an impact.
Position Requirements All Teacher‑Tutors work during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred, with summer and the coming school year even better. Reliability and in‑person availability are a must.This role is in‑person; you must be able to commute to the Oakville location (no relocation package). Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory. Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the Oakville area.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
Teaching certification is an asset
Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math curriculum, particularly senior math including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus and vectors
Experience
Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
Strong English written and oral communication skills
Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities
Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels, online and in‑person
Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
Filling in post‑lesson notes
Completing daily student communication updates
Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
Smiles, High‑Fives&Happy Students
Fun staff events
Ongoing training opportunities
Frequent check‑ins and feedback

Hands‑on development of your teaching skills

Salary $19 – $24 per hour
