As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Corporate Production Control Manager will play a critical role in advancing Mancor’s vision of being a best-in-class Tier 1 supplier. This position is responsible for establishing and driving standardized, scalable best practices across production control and operational planning functions. Reporting directly to the President, this highly visible role provides leadership and oversight of production planning, scheduling, and workflow coordination within a Tier 1 metal fabrication and assembly operation. The scope includes purchasing interface, production planning and scheduling, inventory alignment, and shipping execution. The successful candidate will ensure optimal material flow, resource utilization, and operational efficiency through the disciplined application of the Mancor Business Operating System (BOS). This role is accountable against key operational metrics, including Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity (SQDP), while driving continuous improvement in Key Operating Indicators (KOIs). The environment is fast-paced and growth-oriented, requiring a leader who can effectively respond to increasing customer demands, evolving production requirements, and ongoing operational challenges. The position requires periodic travel across North America to support multiple facilities, engage with customers and suppliers, and drive alignment of production control strategies and best practices across the organization. Key Responsibilities - Lead the strategic and operational direction of production control and materials management to consistently meet OEM delivery requirements, quality standards, and cost targets. - Own the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) / demand-to-production alignment process, ensuring responsiveness to fluctuating OEM schedules and volume changes. - Develop and execute robust production scheduling and capacity planning processes to support high service levels in a dynamic, just-in-time (JIT) workplace. - Drive “zero late” delivery performance through disciplined materials planning, inventory control, and execution of OnRamp (BOS) or equivalent operating systems. - Oversee end-to-end materials flow, including procurement, inbound logistics, internal movement, warehousing, and outbound distribution. - Collaborate with management to implement plant best practices that drive optimal KOI performance. - Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery, inventory turns, premium freight, and schedule adherence; lead corrective actions where needed. - Partner closely with OEM customers to understand forecast changes, build schedules, and escalation requirements, ensuring alignment and rapid response. - Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Finance to balance production efficiency with customer requirements. - Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on lead time reduction, inventory optimization, and elimination of waste across the supply chain. - Maintain ownership of ERP/MRP systems to ensure planning accuracy, data integrity, and effective execution of materials and production processes. - Identify capacity constraints and operational risks, implementing mitigation strategies to protect customer commitments. - Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing materials and production control team, reinforcing accountability and succession planning. Ideal Qualifications & Competencies - Extensive experience in a Tier 1 automotive or similar just-in-time manufacturing environment. - Deep understanding of OEM expectations, including schedule volatility, launch readiness, and service-level performance. - Proven success managing materials and production planning in low-volume, high-mix, and complex manufacturing operations. - Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, JIT principles, and supply chain best practices within automotive. - Demonstrated ability to manage supplier performance, mitigate risk, and ensure continuity of supply. - Experience leading SIOP processes and aligning cross-functional teams to customer demand. - Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and data-driven decision-making. - Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence across functions and at all levels of the organization. - Results-driven mindset with a focus on accountability, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
