Place of Employment: Client’s homes, work sites outside of the client’s home and other work sites as required.

Job Summary: The Foot Care“Nurse at Home” position is front line position acting as a representative for iCare Home Health and providing the services offered by the company. The RPN would work by providing foot care services for our clients. Service would be provided to clients in their own homes, in retirement homes orin long-term care facilities. The RPN will mostly work independently of co-workers or supervisors and therefore must balance good judgment and initiative along with the policies of the company. It is the responsibility of the RPN, to perform routine treatments and services in the delivery of care tothe clients.

Work Hours: This position may require various shifts at various times (including weekends) in one or more work sites.

Duties: The following list of duties is a guideline of possible duties to be performed independently or as a group of duties in the course of working with the client. The RN’s duties are not limited to those listed.

Maintains open lines of communication among supervisors, and families.

Is aware of safety issues and strives to accomplish all responsibilities in a safe manner, consistently reinforces good safety attitudes and practices displayed by other staff members.

Controls, prepares, and administer treatments with knowledge of the purpose and adverse effects of the nursing care provided.

Functions as a knowledgeable and supportive member to maintain high levels of health care.

Complete all documentation for assessments, observations, planning evaluation, orders by physicians and care provided to clients.

Utilize professional assessment skills to develop a care plan to meet these needs.

Functions as a team member, resource person and mentor to peer and subordinates to maintain professional nursing standards.

Acts on clients behalf to assure patient rights and is aware of areas that make clients subject to abuse and prevents such abuse.

Qualifications:

Current Registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Successfully completed an Advanced Foot Care Course preferred.

Experience providing foot care to seniors.

Current certificate in standard first aid and CPR.

Police Criminal Reference Checks

Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation as position requires regular travel to visit clients at various locations.

Ability to work independently.

Excellent communication and listening skills.

Secondary language(s) an asset.

Compassionate, patient and caring nature.

Must be physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of care giving.

Must be passionate and committed in heart and mind in everything you do.
