Loss Prevention Officer (Cranbrook)

Job Summary The Loss Prevention Officer plays a crucial role in safeguarding the assets and integrity of the organization. This position involves monitoring and preventing theft, fraud, and other security breaches within the premises. The ideal candidate will possess robust observational skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for both employees and customers. What you will do - Prevent shoplifter theft in a retail environment while providing customer service to clients, patrons and customers. - Wear plain clothes to work undercover, discreetly blending in with shoppers. - Patrol store aisles, monitor customers, and watch security camera footage. - Confront individuals you suspect of theft, who have unpaid merchandise. - Escort trespassers out of the client premises. - Perform arrests, detainments, and recover unpaid merchandise. - Complete required documentation for security incidents such as theft and violations. - Escalate situation to law enforcement as required. - Respond to emergency situations appropriately in a timely manner. The Ideal Candidate - A Valid Security License is required - Advanced Security Training - authorization to carry handcuffs - A keen interest in asset protection and crime prevention - Previous security experience in a retail environment is required - Possess knowledge of the 5 steps to follow to apprehend shoplifters - Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifting - Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, is required - Willingness to attend meetings and improve skills - Ability to work without close supervision ABOUT US.
