Confectionary Cook (Fernie)

We are looking for a full-time cook to join our team. This unique cooks position is working with a copper kettle pot, to make caramel apples, caramel popcorn, brittles, seafoam and fudges. There is an opportunity to work with chocolate and gain customer service experience as well. We are located in the heart of downtown Fernie. Enjoy the ski hill in the winter and trails in the summer. We are a family owned location so value a welcoming, positive atmosphere for our team and customers. Requirements - Previous cooks experience either professionally or domestically. - Must have food safe certificate. Or be willing to obtain one. - Grade 12 education or equivalent. - Communicate and read English (comprehension) - Visa over 1 year ( not a seasonal position) Responsibilities: - Planning cooking schedule - Manage cooks inventory and supplies - Following recipes and techniques - Maintaining clean and food protected environment - Following cleaning schedule - Packaging finished product - Working with team supervisor/managers - Completing cooking duties quickly and efficiently. - Quality control Shifts during summer will be combination of daytime and evening shifts. Some weekends will be required. Option for powder ski days in the winter. We provide training onsite. No housing is provided. This position is physical and will require standing during shift and lifting over 40lbs. This position requires teachability, positive attitude, motivated and staying focused.
