Job Details Our Division & Communities Foothills School Division (FSD) serves the learning needs of approximately 8000 students from preschool to grade 12. We operate 22 public schools, an online digital school, an alternative campus, and three colony schools. These are located in the towns of Okotoks, High River, and Diamond Valley, and the communities of Blackie, Cayley, Heritage Heights, Red Deer Lake, Longview, Millarville and Foothills County. Applicant Eligibility We welcome all eligible applicants to apply. The Role This position requires the applicant to work a flexible schedule that best meets the needs of our complex students. This successful applicant must be competent with student feeding, toileting, lifting/transporting, as well as Learning Coach paperwork and academic planning, tracking, and teacher support. This successful candidate also needs to be capable of supporting students at the high school academic level. Learning Coach Role Learning coaches are teachers who are knowledgeable about inclusive education and are skilled at facilitating teacher collaboration, strengthening inclusive learning, building capacity and expertise in design, instruction and assessment practices of teachers in support of all learners. A more comprehensive understanding of the roles andresponsibilitieswill be provided during the recruitmentprocess. The Candidate As a member of a highly motivated team and student-centered educator, you are prepared to collaborate with colleagues in a Qualified Learning Community. Your teaching practice includes the ability to design and plan learning activities that transfer, and develop thinking competencies. Further, your practice assesses individual student variables to inform the design of meaningful and experiential learning opportunities and effective assessment practice. Your ability to foster effective professional relationships with student, families, staff and community is critical. You demonstrate a willingness to engage in extra-curricular activities and support students in the whole school experience that characterizes effective schools. Your capacity to integrate technologies and and support experiential learning that connects students to community resources within Maker-centered learning, CTF and CTS learning environments is evident.
