Grades 7-12 Teacher: English and Social Studies (Fernie)

Enhance student learning at Fernie Secondary School as a full time English, Social Studies, and Physical Education Teacher for Grades 7-12. This 1.0 FTE temporary contract begins in September 2026. As an integral part of the educational team, you'll deliver English 9, Social Studies 9, and Physical and Health Education lessons. This role requires a strong academic foundation and teaching experience specific to the subjects and grade levels outlined. Candidates with BC Teacher Certification will be prioritized for this position. Key Responsibilities: - Instruct students in English and Social Studies curriculum - Conduct Physical and Health Education classes for grades 7-9 - Provide consistent feedback on student performance - Create an encouraging and respectful learning space - Work in partnership with fellow educators and parents Requirements: - Educational degree with emphasis on relevant subjects - Experience teaching at the Middle School level - BC Teacher Certification highly desirable - Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment methods - Compliance with the Criminal Records Review Act required Empower students at Fernie Secondary School with your expertise in English and social studies.
