Position Title: Grade 1 Teacher

Location: Gordon Terrace Elementary School, Cranbrook, BC

Contract Type: Part‑time Temporary (0.417 FTE)

Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $27,212 to $48,020, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Terms and conditions pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay).

Qualifications

BC Teacher Certification (preferred)

Must have a degree, formal training, and/or teaching experience in subjects at a level specific to each posting.

Must have a degree, formal training, and/or teaching experience at the Primary level.

Responsibilities This is a 0.417 FTE temporary contract, starting June 5 2026 or upon completion of the posting process to June 25 2026, or return of the incumbent.

The position is scheduled for Monday through Thursday afternoons and all day on Fridays. All work will be on site.

Continuing teachers will need to vacate their continuing assignment in order to accept a temporary assignment, unless the FTE is greater in the temporary job posting.
