Heavy Equipment Operator (Bracebridge)

Fowler Construction is seeking highly experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to skillfully operate excavators, dozers, and/or graders. A strong commitment to safety, along with significant roadbuilding and civil construction experience, is essential for the role. Key Responsibilities - Skillfully operate equipment to level and smooth surfaces, dig holes and trenches, and move earth and other materials as instructed. - Execute the daily plan and work sequence under the direction of the foreperson or superintendent and complete work tasks as directed in an effective safety-conscious manner. - Work with and alongside lead hands and labourers to successfully complete the required work. - Perform physical labour when required to meet the demands of the project. - Follow direction as provided by the foreperson, lead hand, superintendent, and spotter. - Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment to ensure it’s in good working condition. - Ensure cleanliness of equipment and operator cab. Position Requirements - 5+ years of equipment operation in a civil construction environment. - Significant skills in operating graders, excavators and/or dozers (can be limited to one specialty). - Ability to work and follow directions in challenging work environments. - Strong work ethic and ability to work with a team. - Must be willing and capable of performing physical labour when needed. - Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, reach etc… - Punctual and available to work. - Must maintain a valid Driver’s License.
