Overview We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Carpenter Assistant to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction projects, providing a valuable foundation for a career in the trades. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid work ethic, eagerness to learn, a great attitude, and an interest in developing skills across multiple areas of construction and woodworking. Duties Assist experienced carpenters with building, installing, and repairing structures using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to understand project requirements. Participate in framing, siding, interior finish, and other duties as required. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, safety equipment, and proper tool handling. Assist with heavy lifting and material movement around job sites. Be punctual, respectful, and responsible. Qualifications Basic knowledge of construction principles and familiarity with hand tools and power tools. Hands-on experience with framing, interior finish, and exterior finish is desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or on scaffolding, as required. Working from heights qualification is a requirement. Own a vehicle and driver's license in order to commute daily to various sites in Muskoka. Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately. Willingness to learn recent skills across various trades within the construction industry.
